One of the challenges of this micro drama is getting each episode to 90s or less. There’s so much I want to tell in each story - and I mentally try to pace each episode when writing - but reality of dialogue and directing means I am often 30s or so over the timing. So, then things have to be cut, or as with episode 7, rewritten.
Episode 8 is a departure in style - I wanted some background to flesh out the Driver, but to also introduce a new character. A secondary consideration was to see how much direction could be handled by my brother’s AI - and in this case, about how much performance we can control in the ‘actors’.
Overall, I am happy. But I do wish we had 2 minutes - the dialogue I wrote for this scene originally had a slower pace, and a little more detail on what was needed to rescue a soul. Yet there is an awful lot I like about this episode - especially moments of depth. I do hope you enjoy it!
